During the early morning hours on February 3, Ellen went home to be with Jesus, her Savior.
Ellen was born November 30, 1956, in Phenix City, Alabama, the daughter of Robert and Mavis Emerson.
Ellen is survived by her son, J P McLendon; beloved grandson, Ryan; 2 sisters, Judy Dollar (David) and Cheryle Nevels (Jimmy); nieces and nephews, and Tank, her dog, a constant companion.
Ellen's joy was spending time with family and all holidays, especially Christmas and Easter, she also loved chicken and dumplings and red velvet cake. Ellen had many talents and hobbies, but her time was mostly spent volunteering with animal rescue and the humane treatment of all animals.
Other than her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Jesse McLendon, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Ellen was a beacon of light to all who knew her, her laughter and warmth left a mark on the hearts of all her family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 O'clock on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
"The Lord gave and The Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord" Job 1:21.
