Edgar Lee Burt III

Edgar Lee Burt, III, 65, of Pittsview, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

“Lee” Burt was born April 20, 1961 in Columbus, Georgia, to Edgar Lee Burt, Jr. and Mary Stewart Burt. He lived in Pittsview most of his life. He graduated from The Lakeside School in 1979 in Eufaula, Alabama, where he received honors for his achievements in football.

After attending University of South Alabama in Mobile, Lee returned home to be employed with his family cattle farm. He was a member of Pittsview Methodist Church and will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, his love of country life, and for being a devoted friend.

His family extends a special expression of gratitude to the staff of Bridgeway Health and Rehabilitation Center (formerly Arabella) for the care given to Lee in the last years of his life.
