Dorothy Mary Smith, 72, of Columbus, GA peacefully passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born December 28, 1948 in Columbus, GA to the late Maria Muth Maurer and Cecil Greer. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, William Douglas Maurer.
Dorothy worked in Civil Service Accounting and spent her entire career at Ft. Benning, GA. She enjoyed planting in her yard and cooking wonderful feasts for her beloved pets. Other than her biological parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Greer.

She is survived by her father, William Douglas Maurer of Columbus, GA, her daughter, Stacey Doggett (Michelle Zeller) of Huntersville, NC and grandchildren, Jack Zeller of Birmingham, AL, Madison Zeller of Athens, GA.

The family will have a private memorial service for Dorothy.
