Dorothy Mae Griggs, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, at the age of 92 in Columbus, Georgia. Born on December 24, 1931, in Hannibal, Missouri.

She was the beloved daughter of Clarence and Matilda Johnson Wells, who instilled in her the values of kindness and perseverance. Dorothy's journey through life was marked by the love she shared with her late husband, David R. Griggs, whose memory she held dear after his passing. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Matilda, and her brothers, Al, Jim, Charlie, and Francis Wells, with whom she is now joyfully reunited.

A creative spirit, Dorothy found joy and purpose in the delicate art of ceramics. Her hands skillfully crafted plates and even full activity scenes, each piece a testament to her attention to detail and her passion for bringing beauty into the world. These creations became treasured gifts, leaving a legacy of her artistic talent for generations to admire.

Dorothy's love extended beyond her crafts to her cherished family. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Wells, and her adoring nieces and nephews, Rebecca Starr (Todd), Tina Stewart (Steve), and Mark Wells. While Dorothy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, her spirit remains a guiding light.
