Donnie R Pope

Donnie R. Pope, 69, of Phenix City, AL passed away on October 06, 2021 in Columbus, Georgia.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11th, 2021 from 5:00pm ET to 7:00pm ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL.

Graveside service will be on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 at 1:30 PM ET at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Thomas Peavy officiating. 

Donnie was born on June 3, 1952 to Leon E. Pope and Irene M. (Hoffman) Pope in Phenix City, Alabama. 

He served in the United States Army and worked at West Central Georgia Hospital as activities director for nearly 30 years. In his free time Donnie loved bass fishing. 

He is survived by one son, Jeremy Pope of Brooklyn, NY; three siblings, Evon Pope (Tammy) of Phenix City, AL, Bonnie Kendrick of Vicksburg, MS, and Katreen Taylor of Phenix City, AL; his nieces, Brandi Montgomery (Shawn) of Vicksburg, MS; Lindsay Hood of Phenix, City, AL; nephew Brandon Pope of Phenix City, AL as well as numerous Nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Irene M. (Hoffman) and Leon E. Pope and one sister, Billie Hartwell.
