Donald was born on March 21, 1955 to Malcolm Henry Taylor and Vivain McMullen Taylor in Phenix City, Alabama.

He is survived by seven siblings, Barbara Harris (Tony), Shirley Taylor, Sandra Glawson (Tim), niece Lareal Eshleman (Jason) and family, nephew Isreal Glawson and family, Patty Ward, nephew Danny Ward (Amber) and family, niece Mary Clark (Bobby) and family, niece Tandy Williams and family, Margaret Taylor, Andrew Taylor, and Penny Martin, niece Ruth McDonald (Phillip).
