Donald Deerea Bounds, 67, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. Visitation will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama.
Mr. Bounds was born October 27, 1953 to George Bounds, Sr. and Mary Louise Wade in Wesson, Mississippi. He retired from the United States Army and went on to work as an apartment manager in Washington State, ran a passenger transport service, driver for Shaw Industries on Fort Benning and a psych manager to troops being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. Bounds loved being with his family, hunting, fishing, crafts, drawing and painting. He collected trains and enjoyed his pet dogs, cats and parrots.
Surviving are his wife, Hester Bounds; three daughters, Amanda Skinner, Amy Christine Eaton and Barbara Russell; one son, Phillip Bounds; two brothers, George Bounds, Jr. and Phillip Bounds; two half-brothers, Richard Martin and Chris Martin; eight grandchildren, Orion Skinner, Andrew Bounds, Carter Bounds, Daniel Bounds, Thomas James Russell, Brandi Nicole Russell, Erik Eaton and Andalynn Eaton; two great-grandchildren, Nickilie Russell and Elizabeth Russell.
