Donald Blackmon passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, laughter, and unwavering loyalty to his family. He was a man whose presence brought comfort, whose patience calmed storms, and whose humor could lighten even the hardest days.
He was a faithful and loving husband to his wife, Diana Blackmon of 50 years, and together they built a life rooted in commitment, trust, and deep love. He was a proud and devoted father to his children, Tracy Lynn Blackmon and Kristen Ann Fincher, whom he loved endlessly and supported wholeheartedly.
Nothing brought him more joy than being a grandfather. He cherished his grandchildren- Michael Earl Gunter Jr, Jeremiah Wyatt Fincher, Jilian Leorra Fincher, Brennan Colby Fincher, and Lilly Leann Fincher- and took great pride in each of them. His love for them was unconditional, steady, and always felt. He shared laughter, lessons, and unforgettable moments that will live on in their hearts forever.
He also leaves behind his beloved siblings Danny Blackmon and Tammy Summers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Blackmon and Ruby Hill, sister Brenda Finton as well as his beloved granddaughter Ivy Leann Gunter, whom he carried in his heart always.
He was known for his patience, understanding nature, and loyal heart. He was dependable, kind, and always willing to be there for those he loved. He had a playful, goofy personality and never missed a chance to crack a joke or make someone laugh.
A true sports fan at heart, he loved NASCAR and was a die-hard Alabama football fan. Saturdays were sacred, and cheering on Alabama was more than a hobby- it was a tradition and a joy he shared proudly.
