Deloria Belle Braun affectionately known as "De", age 84, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, at her home. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 23, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Brad McDaniel and Brother Dennis Weathers officiating at Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends Friday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home.
She was born March 26, 1939, in Dothan, Alabama to the late Cleamon Izell and Archie Belle Rabion. De had many interests and occupations during her life, including, working in textile mills, x-ray technician, owning a beauty shop, plus sized model, serving as a military wife to her late husband, William Harry Braun, and being a wonderful mother and homemaker. She stayed very active in her community, volunteering for community projects, active in local politics, former DHR board member for more than 30 years, president of Georgia Women's Bowling Association, Rotary Club, and Humane Society. De was a longtime member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church and will be most remembered as a loving friend with a big heart.
She is survived by her daughter, Faith D. Braun; a brother, Ricky Mack Rabion and wife Lisa, a nephew, Bradley P. Rabion and wife, Amanda; 2 nieces, Bethany R. McQuillin and Kimberly Baldy Moore; 2 great nephews, Brad Rabion and Joseph McQuillin, and a great niece, Bralee Rabion.
