David Moore Obituary

David O'Neal Moore, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and master craftsman, passed away peacefully at his home in Salem, Alabama, on October 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 14, 1949, in Coffee County, Alabama, David's life was a testament to the values of hard work, dedication, and the deep bonds of family.

David, affectionately known as "David" to his friends and loved ones, shared 58 wonderful years with his cherished wife, Marilyn Moore. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Their family grew to include two devoted sons, Dave, married to Maria, and Daniel, who found love with Tracy Falardo. The family tree continued to flourish with the addition of grandchildren Kayla, Tyler, Lane, Brian, who married Haley, Steven with his wife Courtney, Josh married to Brittany Grantham, and Madison, who married Travis Ramey. David's joy multiplied with the arrival of great-grandchildren Bryson Boswell, Emma, Corbin, Kinsley, Blakely, Sadie, and Rhett Grantham.

David's legacy is also cherished by his sister, Mary Dinah Holloway, and his brother, Lavon Moore, along with his sister-in-law, Patricia Graves. His extended family of several nieces, nephews, and cousins will fondly remember the love and wisdom he shared.

Professionally, David was revered as a master cabinet maker, dedicating many years of his life to Leatherwood Cabinets, where his skill and artistry left a lasting impression. His work was not just a job but a passion, one that he pursued with excellence and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Beyond his professional achievements, David's interests and hobbies enriched his life and the lives of those around him. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and stock car racing at EAMS, and his love for Alabama Football was well-known among his friends and family. David's joy was most palpable when he was spending time with his loved ones, whether at lively family barbecues at his son Dave's home—where his ribs were the star attraction—or at home, savoring his wife's homemade biscuits and tomato gravy. His affectionate nickname for Marilyn, "Baby Doll," was a sweet expression of his enduring love and devotion.

David's love for coffee and woodworking were simple pleasures that reflected the essence of his character: warm, robust, and full of depth. His hands, so skilled in the art of cabinetry, were equally adept at creating moments of joy and connection, whether through a shared cup of coffee or a finely crafted piece of furniture.

As we remember David O'Neal Moore, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man who was deeply rooted in the things that mattered most: family, friendship, and the satisfaction of a life's work done well. He leaves behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and the warm memories that will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. David's life was a beautiful tapestry of the relationships he nurtured, the work he created, and the joy he brought to every gathering. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.
