David Richard Griggs

David Richard Griggs, 87 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, Georgia.

A graveside service with Masonic rites will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM ET at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, Alabama with Chaplain Dean Knipe officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.   Mr. Griggs was born July 14, 1932  son of Alfred Clinton Griggs and Connie Mae Bullock Griggs. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, a member of the  Local Union 613, a member of  Wilson-Williams Masonic Lodge Post # 351 Phenix City, a member of Summerville UMC and was a Shriner. David loved playing pool, bowling, Alabama Football and he loved his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Dorothy Griggs, two daughters Patsy Scarborough and Donna Griggs Riley, three grandchildren Lyndee Williams, Ashley Stokes and Brittney Scarborough, five great grandchildren Abery, Brylee, Charlee Grace, Livi Cate and Luke, and sister-in-law Betty Wells. He is preceded in death by his brother Gene Griggs, his mother Connie Mae Harris and step-father Danny Harris.
