Darryl Lamar Rushing

Darryl Lamar Rushing, known affectionately as Darryl to his friends and family, passed away on August 13, 2024, in Phenix City, Alabama. He was born on October 5, 1960, in Columbus, Georgia.

Darryl was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Rushing, and his mother, Dorothy Smith Stephens. His parents instilled in him a strong sense of integrity and the value of hard work, traits that Darryl carried throughout his life. He was a proud graduate with an Associate's Degree, which paved the way for his successful career as an IT Technician. Darryl's expertise and dedication in the field of information technology were well recognized, and he was respected by his colleagues for his problem-solving abilities and his willingness to help others.

Beyond his professional life, Darryl was a man of many passions. He had an enduring love for Disney, often reminiscing about his favorite characters and the joy they brought to people of all ages. His eyes would light up whenever he talked about his latest visit to a Disney park or shared his extensive knowledge of Disney lore. Darryl was also an ardent Auburn fan, his spirit never wavering through wins and losses. His love for the team was a testament to his loyalty and his belief in the power of community.
