Danny Ray Hearn

Danny Ray Hearn, age 75, of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away on June 17, 2026, in Columbus, Georgia. He was born on April 25, 1951, in Columbus, Georgia, and lived a life marked by devotion to his family, faith, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.

Danny was a resident of Smiths Station, Alabama, and was known as a hardworking man who carried himself with quiet strength and steady kindness. He retired from Kellogg’s after 45 years of service, where he was respected for his dedication and dependable nature. Those who knew him will remember him as a man who took pride in doing things the right way and who valued honesty, loyalty, and a good day’s work.

On March 29, 1979, he married the love of his life, Glenda Hearn, and together they shared a marriage of more than four decades. Their life together was built on love, commitment, and the many memories they created with family and friends. He is survived by his spouse, Glenda Hearn; one son, Jeff Jenkins and his wife, Diane; five grandchildren, Scott Jenkins and his wife, Karen, Brad Jenkins and his wife, Hannah, Chase Jenkins and his wife, Savannah, Gade Stringfellow, and Bryce Stringfellow; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Jenkins and Parker Jenkins; and three sisters, Wanda Morrison, Patricia Moody, and Ann Holt. He also leaves behind a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish his memory.

Danny was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Leigh Hearn; one grandchild, Jackson Stringfellow; his parents, Otis and Gladys Walden Hearn; and five brothers, James Otis Hearn, Jerry Hearn, David Hearn, Kenny Hearn, and Mike Hearn. The family takes comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with those who went before him.
Fishing was Danny’s favorite hobby, and he was always ready to head to a local lake or river at any time, day or night, in hopes of casting a line and enjoying the quiet of the water. He also enjoyed collecting knives, a pastime that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and the value he found in meaningful possessions. Danny was a member of Union Grove Community Church, where his faith and fellowship were important parts of his life.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama. Funeral services will follow on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home with Stephanie Giles and Kristi Garner officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Danny Ray Hearn will be remembered for his love of family, his faithful spirit, and the many ways he touched the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
