Carol was born in Fort Mitchell, Alabama on January 29, 1939, and raised by her brother and sister-in-law, George and Dot Stratford of Columbus, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her husband, T. Kim Taylor, III; brother, George Stratford (Dot); brothers, Bill Stratford (Vermell) and Bob Guinn; and grandson, Levi Hall.
Survivors include her two daughters, Terri Cameron-Renfroe (Bobby) of Seale, AL and Christy Chapman of Phenix City, AL; one brother, John Stratford (Evelyn) of McIntyre, GA; one sister, Jean Mitchell of Phenix City, AL; niece, Sandy Etheridge (Butch) of San Diego, CA and nephew, Danny Stratford of Atlanta, GA, whom she loved as her siblings; grandchildren, Dalton Chapman (Ashlee), Caitlin Chapman, and Cameron Chapman (Hannah); two great-grandchildren, Lauren Dunlap and Aiden Chapman; nieces, Lisa Hutchinson, Wendy Ogletree, Michelle Lang, and Melanie Mayes.
Carol began her career in the banking industry with First National Bank. Later, she transitioned to the medical field, working as manager of the admitting office at the Columbus Medical Center, then Dr. Muhammad Usman and Dr. David White in their private medical practices. Prior to retiring, she opened Petals Florist with her sister Jean because of her love and passion for flowers. She was a very talented floral and interior designer, but first and foremost she was a sweet, loving and compassionate mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
A special thank you to her devoted caregivers for their loving care, kindness, patience, and understanding over the last three years, as well as the staff with Gentiva Hospice. At Carol's request, there will be no service.
