Caroline Stubbs Obituary

Caroline Rose Stubbs, a beacon of kindness and the matriarch of her loving family, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Phenix City, Alabama, at the age of 86. Born on March 17, 1939, in Enosburg, Vermont, Caroline's life was one marked by devotion, creativity, and service. She was the cherished daughter of Leroy Longley and Phylis Burnor, who instilled in her the values of hard work and compassion that she carried throughout her life.

Caroline's heart found its match in Donald Stubbs. Together, they built a life characterized by mutual respect and unwavering support, celebrating 66 years of marriage. Their union was blessed with a son, Arrick Stubbs, who, along with his wife Jessica, will miss Caroline's love and spirit. Caroline's joy was multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Samantha Stubbs, Lucas Stubbs, Jessica Stubbs and Tobias Boisvert, who became the apple of her eye. She will be greatly missed by numerous family members in Vermont and Florida as well.

An avid quilter, Caroline created beautiful and high-quality quilts that were cherished. Her hands were rarely still, as she found solace and pleasure in her gardens. Caroline's cooking was another avenue through which she expressed her love, often using ingredients she had grown herself, to the delight of friends and family who were fortunate enough to sit at her table.

In her professional life, Caroline served with distinction in both the Army and as a police dispatcher. Her roles required a calm demeanor and a strong will, qualities she possessed in abundance. Caroline's voice was a reassuring presence to those in need, and her ability to remain composed under pressure earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Caroline Rose Stubbs leaves behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and service. She will be deeply missed by her family and numerous friends and community members whose lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the quilts she crafted, the gardens she tended, and the countless hearts she warmed with her kindness. Though she has departed from this world, Caroline's spirit remains a guiding light to all who were blessed to know her.
