Carol Vautrin Obituary

Carol Ann Vautrin, a beacon of selfless love and devout faith, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, in Columbus, Georgia. Born on October 10, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, Carol's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to serving others and embodying the Christian values she held dear.

Carol's early years in Brooklyn laid the foundation for a life marked by compassion and generosity. Her journey took her to Alabama, where she became a cherished member of the community. Carol's legacy of kindness is carried on by her loving son, Kevin Vautrin, and her devoted siblings, Johnny Carter, Mike Carter, and Janet Macklin. While she rejoiced in the company of her family and friends, Carol was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Xavier Vautrin Jr.; and her son, Ryan Patrick Vautrin, whose memories remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew them.

A dedicated servant of God, Carol's consecrated life as a member of the Holy Trinity Missionary Cenacle Apostolate (MCA) since 1999 was a profound expression of her faith. Carol lived her vocation with a quiet yet powerful presence, striving daily to bring the love and compassion of Christ to others. Her service extended to the Lazarus House in Phenix City, where she volunteered her time and resources to support those in need with food and care. Carol's generosity knew no bounds, and her enduring commitment to helping others was a hallmark of her character.

Carol's interests also reflected her loving nature. She cherished moments spent with her beloved St. Bernard, Honey, remembering fondly the times with her previously passed canine companion, Harley. These gentle giants were an extension of Carol's own gentle spirit, sharing in her life's journey and providing companionship and joy.

For two decades, Carol served with humility and grace at St. Patrick Church in Ft. Mitchell, Alabama. Her dedication to her church community was a reflection of her deep Christian faith and her desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Carol's professional life was equally distinguished, having retired from a fulfilling career at Troy State University, where she touched the lives of many through her work.

Carol Ann Vautrin's journey on earth may have come to an end, but the ripples of her kind deeds and the warmth of her spirit will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Her unwavering faith, her nurturing love, and her commitment to service will forever be remembered as the cornerstones of a life well-lived. As we bid farewell to Carol, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy of selflessness will endure, inspiring future generations to live with the same compassion and devotion that she embodied every day of her life.
