Carl "Steve" Layfield

Carl "Steve" Layfield, 71, of Columbus, GA passed away on March 07, 2022 in Columbus, Georgia.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 9th, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens. 

Carl was born on December 12, 1950 to Carl Layfield and Myrtice (McDaniel) Davis in Americus, Georgia.  

Mr. Layfield loved drinking Coca Cola and collecting their memorabilia. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed cooking always utilizing his favorite ingredient coca cola in his dishes. He was always helping others even before himself.  

He is survived by four siblings, Evelyn Golden (Ronald), Diane Tarbox, Calvin Layfield, and Abigail Layfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his spouse Betty Layfield; his father, Carl Layfield; loving mother Myrtice Davis, and two brothers, Clinton Layfield and Stanley Layfield
