Calvin Grady Long, 83, of Salem, Alabama passed away June 28, 2021 at his home. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Church of Christ on Old Moon Road in Columbus, Georgia with Rev. Nathan Dillard officiating. Lunch will be served following the service.
Mr. Long was born February 26, 1938 to John "Frank" Wilson Long and Mary Hollis Long in Phenix City, Alabama. He was a master plumber, who owned his own business and former owner of BBQ House in Barnesville, Georgia. Mr. Long enjoyed watching college football with his family, wrestling, fishing, hunting, and going to the casino. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two wives, Joan (Nolin) Copeland, and Rilla (Kersey) Long; sisters, Jane Monticello, Dorothy Waldrop, Marie Bullock, and Joyce Eggleton; brother, Eddie Frank Long.
Surviving are his children, Calvin "D." Long (Tammy), Linda Barker, Frankie Long, Donna Eckstein, James Allen Long (Mary), and Michelle McManus (Chris); four step-children, Wayne Frey, Tammy Cranford, Jeff Frey, and Donnie Frey; one brother, James Aubrey Long; four sisters, Sarah Quigley, Hazel Wadsworth, Sherll Davidson, and Claudine Wilson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
