Billy Roan Goss, 83, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. Interment will take place at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Goss was born on November 20, 1937 to Zach Goss and Haddie Cannon in Webster County, Georgia. He graduated from Jordan High School, where he played quarterback and catcher. Growing up he spent a lot of time at the Columbus Boys Club. He married JoAnne (Jones) Goss on October 4, 1954, in Hamilton, Georgia at his parents home. Mr. Goss worked for Tom Foods for over 40 years, where he was a driver trainer. In his career he drove over a million miles with no driving accidents. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite Shriner, Past President of the Hijinx Unit, and was clown of the year multiple years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Zach and Haddie (Cannon) Goss; three siblings, Louise Warren, Calvin Goss, and Tip Chapdelaine.
He is survived by four children, Gerald Goss (Patricia), Dewayne Goss, Randall Goss, and Melinda Lockler; five grandchildren, Bridgette Dianne Goss, Trevor Lee Goss, Brianna Alexus Lockler, Austin Lauer, and Dallas Lauer; two great-grandchildren, Abbie Grace Goss and Ava Goss; nieces and nephews, Kathy Nail, Karon McNeil, Jackie Warren, and Brent Chapdelaine.
