Beverly June Southern

Beverly June Southern, age 81, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Columbus, Georgia. She was born on June 20, 1944, in Knox, Indiana, and lived a life marked by love, devotion, and quiet strength. Those who knew her will remember her warm spirit, her steady presence, and the kindness she extended to family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

Beverly carried herself with grace and dignity throughout her life. She valued family above all else and found her greatest joy in the time she spent with those she loved. Her life was centered on caring for others, offering encouragement, and creating a home filled with comfort, laughter, and lasting memories. She had a gentle way of making people feel welcome and appreciated, and her influence will remain in the hearts of many.

She is survived by her four children, Starla Woodruff and her husband Randy, Alisa Caldwell and her husband Donnie, Rachael Dalton, and Patrick Southern and his wife Claire. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Chris Woodruff, Ashley Youngblood and her husband Nick, Courtney Caldwell and her husband Hector, and Jeremy Caldwell, as well as her sister, Connie Hershman. Beverly was blessed with great-grandchildren, Braxtyn Youngblood and Bentley Woodruff, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory and the love she shared so freely.

Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wesner Eugene Southern, and by her parents, Hugh Clifford Tallent and Carrie A. Hargett. Their memory remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she carried forward the values of family, loyalty, and perseverance that they helped instill in her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 12PM EST at Colonial Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather to honor Beverly’s life, celebrate the many ways she touched others, and share in the remembrance of a woman who left behind a legacy of love and devotion. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on in the lives of those she loved and in the many moments made brighter by her presence.
