Belton "Skip" Rickett Rey, III, 71, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 PM ET, August 12, 2020 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Alabama with full military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:30 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama.
Mr. Rey was born July 24, 1949 to the late, Belton Rickett Rey, Jr. and Rella June Harrell Rey in Homestead, Florida. He served in the United States Army for 17 years, where he received a Purple Heart and was an educational intern with the Civil Service. Mr. Rey is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tara Dawn Rey, and son, Sean Kevin Michael Rey.
Surviving are his loving wife, Brenda Bottoms Rey, 4 children, Lisa Marie High, Dawn Marie Kuhl, Ian Rey (Kim) and Stacy Rey, Mom Mom, Barbara Rey, 2 brothers, Richard Rey and David Rey, and sister, Carmen Blakely. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Justin Bloom, Amber Carmichael, Kara Finke, Candace High, Brennan Rey, and Emelyn Rey, 6 great-grandchildren, Ansleigh Bloom, Addyson Bloom, Kyleigh Carmichael, Lillian Carmichael, Logan Carmichael and Melanie Carmichael.
