Alva W. Castleberry

Alva W. Castleberry Jr. 76, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. est. Tuesday May 16, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday May 15, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. est. 

Sgt. Castleberry was born October 14, 1946 in Americus, Georgia to the late Alva and Ruby Castleberry.  Sgt. Castleberry served our country in the United States Army having served in the Gulf War, Desert Storm and Persian Gulf.  He was of the Christian faith and retired from Papa Johns Pizza. 

Sgt. Castleberry is survived by his daughter Connie (Robert) Milligan of Lake City, FL.  Two sisters Brenda Ellis of Phenix City, AL and Debra Byrom of Okinawa, Japan.  Grandchildren Toni (Matthew) Hester of Madison, FL, Brandyn (Tori) Deas of Monticello, FL, and Timothy Hightower of Lake City, FL.  Great grandchildren Arianna Mozella, Isabella See, Eli Deas, Liam Deas.  Niece Marie (Brandon) Culpepper. Nephews Brian Steele and Joshua Byrom.
