Alice "Joy" Monfort

Alice “Joy” Monfort, 71, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Alice was born on April 17, 1951 in Phenix City, Alabama. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Rhodes officiating. Interment to follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 – 2:00 PM ET at the funeral home.

Mrs. Monfort was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church for many years. She was the person that her family felt comfortable talking too. Joy always took great pride in keeping her yard and home in perfect order.

She is survived by her husband; John Monfort, son; Don Simmons (Sarah), grandchildren; Gryphon Gomez, Kaitlyn Gomez, Brianna Simmons, Erin Simmons, Lyndsey Wages (Jake), great-grandchildren; Macie Wages, Oakley Wages and Oliver Reece Simmons; nieces; Ericka Stephens (Johnathan), Lori Morgan, Gwen Disney, and Ally Monfort; nephews; Frederick Michel (Tera), Jeffery Stewart, Kristoffer Monfort, Rob Monfort; brothers-in-law, Mark Monfort and Jimmy Monfort (Robbie); sister-in-law; Emily Everett, and numerous extended family.

She is preceded in death by her mother; Mary Jenkins, brother; Fred Michel, sisters; Diane Scheetz (Chuck) and Mary Stewart, nephews; Stephen Stewart and Wesley Stewart, and brother-in-law, Tom Monfort.
