Thomas "Dale" Avant

Thomas Dale Avant 67, passed away peacefully December 22, 2018. A graveside service will be held December 26, 2:00 PM ET at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Alabama with Pastor David Dollar officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens. A viewing will be Wednesday morning from 10:30-12:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. 

Dale was born September 2, 1951 in Columbus, Georgia to the late, Thomas Othal Avant and Hazel Jones Avant.

Mr. Avant became a Christian at an early age and was a member of North Phenix Baptist Church. Dale was a Navy Veteran and after service he was employed at Westvaco in Columbus, Georgia and later retired from West Central Georgia Hospital as a maintenance supervisor. Dale enjoyed his retirement and was an avid fan of Alabama football.

He was married to his beloved late wife, Carol for 42 years until her death in 2017. He is survived by one daughter, Kelli Avant and one son, Rhett Avant. He is also survived by two brothers, William Avant and Robert Avant; three sisters, Carolyn Blakenship, Linda Myers and Wanda Wilchar.
