Royce Lee Grimes

Royce Lee Grimes, 75, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Friday evening at Midtown Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at 3:00 PM EST at Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory's Chapel with Rev. Alan Griffith and Rev. Jack Wallace officiating.

The family will recieve friends Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Royce was born November 29, 1942 at Bush Hospital in Columbus, Georgia to the late Rufus Sanders Grimes and Elma Dasinger Grimes. He was retired and had been very active during his employment years having been employed as manager at Superior Gas Co.and Delta Foods, Russell County Utilities, Vance Memorial Chapel, and the past 3 years with Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory. He was a deacon, member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, former Chief of Ladonia Volunteer Fire Department, and was past president of Ladonia Sports Complex.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Lou Ella Parish Grimes, a son, James "Rusty" (Connie) Grimes, 2 daughters, Bonnie Grimes Boswell, and Dawn Lee, 2 sisters, Janice McGinnis and Joan Parish, Grandchildren, James R.  (Jeremy Thomas) Grimes, Ashley Bosell (Lester) Ivey, John W. (Micah Waugh) Boswell, Jr., Kelsey (Josh) Gilbreath, Erica (Randy Magee) Tidman, Megan and Kaela Lee., great grandchildren, Chase Oldenberg, Ezra Boswell, Elena Boswell, Cohen Tidman, Logan Gilbreath, and Lester Lee Ivey III, numerous nieces and nephews.
