Kenneth Beers Obituary

Mr. Kenneth Ray Beers was born October 1, 1937 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Andrew Beers and Marie Cody. His spirit returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, Georgia.

After completing high school, Ken enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for 3 years before being honorably discharged. He then sought employment as an insurance sales manager for 22 years, then as a civil servant at Fort Benning, Georgia in the maintenance department from which he retired. This job came in handy as he was often called upon to provide his help on various projects at his beloved church, Ladonia Baptist. His passion besides his children and grandchildren was boating and fishing.

Other than his beloved parents, Ken was preceded in death by 2 sisters. Surviving his departure with cherished memories are a devoted daughter, Diana (Dean) Buschel; a loving son, Kenneth Ray, Jr (Betty), 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Naomi Birtley, Laverne Kunkle; 2 brothers-in-law, Gunter Wendlandt and Tommy Birtley.

The family would like to thank each of you for your kindness and deeds expressed at this difficult time. All expressions of encouragement and condolence have helped to keep our spirits lifted. We are most thankful to God and to you. May God bless you each and everyone.
