June Lenora Hayes

June Hayes, 89, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 2:00pm ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Colonial Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00pm ET on Thursday.

Mrs. Hayes was born April 7, 1930 to Joseph William Thomason and Olive Lee Dupriest in Phenix City, Alabama. She received her Associates Degree and worked as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Hayes was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church, taught Bible study, played and taught piano. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bobby Price Hayes and son, Bobby Price Hayes, Jr.

Surviving are her 3 sons, Joseph William Hayes (Laurie), Lee Thomason Hayes and Lennord Taylor Hayes (Norma Jean); daughter-in-law, Naomi Hayes; 5 grandchildren, Melanie Stevens, Brooke Hayes, Taylor Hayes, Abigail Hayes and Bradley Hayes; 3 great-grandchildren, Courtney Moore, Dylan Tatum and Gracelenn Fleming; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Kinsley Moore and Blakely Moore; 1 sister, Gloria Forbes.
