James Edward Thompson, 84, of Cottonton, Alabama passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Kindred Hospice in Columbus, Georgia.

James was born June 29, 1934 in Etowah, Tennessee. He retired from the Army after 23 and a half years. During his time in the Army, he served in Korea, Vietnam and earned a Silver Star, as well as 2 Bronze Stars.

Surviving are his loving wife, Emmalene Thompson, daughter, Monica Person and 4 grandchildren.
