James Bernard Camp, Jr., 75, of Valley, Alabama, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Tuskegee Veterans Nursing Home in Tuskegee, Alabama.
A memorial service will be held later in Houston, Texas.
James was born June 28, 1943 in Houston, Texas to the late James Bernard Camp, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Putnam Camp. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, began his career in the electrical field with General Electric as a salesman, owning several electrical businesses during his working career. He was active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Newnan, Georgia, enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating, water skiing, kayaking, and working on cars.
Surviving are his wife, Eloise Boren Camp, son, James Bernard Camp, III of Houston, Texas, 2 daughters, Karen Lucille Camp and Tony Solivan of Valley, Alabama and Tammy Lynn Camp of Blue Springs, Missouri, 2 sisters, Marilyn Camp of Austin, Texas and Shirley Hunt of Houston, Texas, 6 grandchildren, Mandy Ott of Blue Springs, Missouri, Missy Camp of Kansas City, Missouri, Caleb Lee Camp Parsons, of Valley, Alabama, Rilee Eloise Camp of Valley, Alabama, Madeleine Rose Camp of Houston, Texas, and Hayden Alexander Camp of Houston, Texas.
