David Lee Snyder was born at Grand Coulee Dam, WA on April 17, 1947. In 1962, he and the family moved back to Larimore, ND to the family farm. After graduating from Larimore High School, he enlisted in the Navy in 1967. After serving 4 years at sea on the USS Ticonderoga he came back to live at Arvilla, ND. In 1977, he married Terry Galbraith and had a daughter, Nichole Angela in 1979. During that time, he had become an employee of Minnkota Power Company in Grand Forks, ND and worked at Minnkota for 32 years.
Dave remarried in 1991 to Linda Nelsen Snyder and the two lived on a hobby farm and enjoyed their quarter horses. After retirement in 2009, Dave and Linda sold their farm north of Arvilla and their quarter horses to move to warmer climates down south in Alabama. He found a new hobby in the shape of a Honda GoldWing Motorcycle. Dave became active in the AL-M Chapter located in Phenix City, Alabama. He was chosen to be Chapter Director of the Chapter in 2013. Afterwards, his grandchildren always thought of him as a leader of the pack.
Dave loved his GoldWing, traveling the many roads in the South and traveling all the way to North Dakota on it. Dave was a believer in God, his faith in humanity, had a gentle soul, was a dedicated serviceman and a patriot, and was the kindest gentleman you could encounter.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Snyder and his brother Terry Snyder.
Dave is survived by his wife, Linda, daughter Nichole Boer, daughter Shelly Jack Wittrock, son Jamie Jack, mother Marianne Snyder, brother Steve Snyder, and sister Joan "Temple" Snyder. Dave was a proud grandfather of nine grandchildren and made a lasting impression on them all.
