Welcome to the memorial page for

David Budkovich

September 25, 1968 ~ June 14, 2017 (age 48)

Columbus, GA- David was born in Union City, Tennessee on September 25, 1968. After living briefly in Tennessee and Texas, David and his family moved to Georgia when he was four. He attended George Walton Academy before transferring to Walker Park Elementary School in third grade. He also attended Carver Junior High, Monroe Area Comprehensive High School, and Athens Academy, where he graduated in 1986. As a young man, David was active in the Boy Scouts of America, earning pretty much every badge up to and including Eagle Scout.
David attended Georgia Southern University before entering the workforce, and he worked various jobs before deciding to become a pulmonary technician. After fifteen years he stopped working to become caregiver for his mother and father. Later in life, David became a semi-professional "ne'er do well." He was also a compulsive smiler, serial flatterer, and teller of tall tales who possessed a keen appreciation for the absurd. David possessed a kind soul as well. There wasn't a mean bone in David's body, and he never met an enemy. His favorite activities included playing the drums, fishing, and playing baseball.
He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Ann Budkovich, who hailed from Buckhead, Georgia, and by his father Ralph Melvin Budkovich, who hailed from Gallup, New Mexico. He is survived by his sister Pamela Leigh Budkovich, who lives in Fort Collins, Colorado and a half-sister, Audrey Kirsop, who lives in Rockville, Maryland. He is also survived by many colorful memories and stories, some of which cannot be printed in this newspaper. David's remains will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread according to his wishes. He will be missed terribly. Anyone wishing to honor David may do so by making a donation to Safehouse Ministries in Columbus, Georgia. - See more at:
