Mr. Charlie Macon, 67, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at his residence. Born on March 2, 1950, he was 1 of 13 children born to the late Thomas Macon and Hattie Powell Macon of Montgomery, Alabama. Baptist by faith, Charlie Macon proudly served our great nation and in the United States Army over 20 years. A retired Vietnam Veteran, he also was employed with G&B Battery Recycling, worked at the REC Center on Ft. Benning, did security, and was a R.I.C.E. volunteer. A private soul, Mr. Macon enjoyed fishing & family. Mr. Macon is survived by his wife, Alma Jean Edwards Macon, a daughter Jessica Macon of Columbus, GA , three sons, Cornelius Omar Gould of Columbus, GA, Michael Anthony Gould of Parker Heights, TX, and Charlie Belser.
