Linda Carol Avant, 64, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at East Alabama Medical Center.
Carol was born March 27, 1953 in Troy, Alabama, daughter of the late Robert and Mavis Emerson. She was a Christian by Faith and a member of the St. James Free Will Baptist Church. Her faith was evident in her daily life always offering to help anyone in need. She was a graduate of Chavala High School in Seale, Alabama. After high school she was employed at Garrett & Lane Photography & color lab where she was employed for 37 years. In 1976 she married the love of her life, Dale Avant. Together they had two wonderful children, Kelli and Rhett. She enjoyed meeting people and if you were close by she soon would be having a conversation with you. Carol looked forward to Christmas holidays decorating her home and cooking for family. She loved visiting with their daughter out west, Carol enjoyed family gatherings and "get togethers" with her girlfriends. Other than her parents, Carol was preceded in death by two brothers, James Emerson and Randall Emerson, a sister, Patsy Emerson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years, Dale Avant, two children, Kelli and Rhett, three sisters, Judy Dollar and husband David, Cheryle Nevels, and Ellen McLendon.
Funeral Services will be Monday, June 12, 2017 at 3:00 PM EDST in the Chapel of Colonial Funeral Home with Pastor David Dollar officiating. The family will recieve friends Monday from 2-3 Pm in the Chapel prior to the funeral service. Interment wil follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
