Bobby Joe Wright was born September 23rd, 1932 in Memphis, Tn. to the late Cecil Wright and Mildred Daniel. His spirit returned to his heavenly father on Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 in Phenix City, Al.
Bobby was a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army for 20 years and served in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. While in the military he received the Army Commendation Medal. After he retired he went on to work for the FAA as an air traffic controller. He attended college throughout his career and graduated with a degree in Theology and went on to become an Ordained Minister for the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Bobby is preceded in death by his Brothers Herman and Richard Wright, his Daughter Ann Marie Wright Pope (Rodney), his grandsons Matthew Malo and Jordan Wright and his stepson Lee Roy “Sandy” Sanders.
He is survived by his wife Harriete Sanders Wright, his daughters Rose Wright Massaro (Mark) and Valarie Wright, his sister Martha Kelso, his grandchildren Shaun Minogue (Michael), Austin Pope and Dani Pope, his great grandchildren Aiden and Ava Minogue.
Bobby was a loving husband and an amazing and caring father and grandfather to his family, he will be deeply missed.
