Norman Kenneth Cook, 70, of Phenix City, Alabama died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church, on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 3:00pm, with Rev. Dexter James and Rev. Grant Parker officiating. Mr. Cook was born November 17, 1945 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Samuel H. Cook, Sr. and Ruby Neal Wade Cook. He began his career with Dixie Drug Co., then with Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, later becoming Novartis until retirement. He was a 1963 graduate of Central High School, 1969 graduate of Auburn University, past president of the Phenix City Jaycees, member and treasurer of The Exchange Club, member of Epworth United Methodist Church, enjoyed Auburn football, and will be remembered as a loving husband and father. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Hodge Cook, daughter, Christi Cook Martin of Phenix City, son, Norman Wade Cook (Ashley) of Columbus, stepsons, Ashley T. Singletary (Meg) of Alabaster, AL, Sterling R. Singletary of Smiths Station, sisters, Margaret Ruth of Atlanta, Peggy Gresham of Phenix City, brother, Jack Cook of Phenix City, grandchildren, Berkley Layne Martin, Steven Ryder Martin, Bryan Ty Hurst, Daniel Kenneth Cook, Desiree White, Alexia White, Katelyn White, Jackson H. Singletary, and Ava Marie Singletary. nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, 3763 US Hwy 431 N Phenix City, AL 36867.
