John D. "Johnny" Roughton, Jr., 56, of Phenix City, Alabama died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Johnny was born January 7, 1961 in Opp, Alabama to the late John D. Roughton, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Morrison Bowden. He was a carpenter, Baptist by faith, was a gun enthusist, enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, Auburn Football, and grilling. Most of all he loved his family, and was a kind and generous man that will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his companion of 15 years, Tammy Nelson, children, Brandon (Charisma) LaRue, Jessica (Josh) Hinote, Amanda (Jason) Bennefield, Derek Troha, and Jacob (Jodi) Pate. sisters, Sheila Whitman, and Wendy Weaver, a brother, Royce Roughton, eight grandchildren now and expecting the ninth in August. Many nieces and nephews.
