Columbus, Georgia- Herbert Louis Money, Sr., 95, of Columbus,Georgia passed away Monday morning, October 2, 2017 at Morningside of Columbus.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Pines mausoleum, Parkhill cemetery with Pastor Roy White officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at Parkhill cemetery.

Mr. Money was born February 18, 1922 in Pine Level, Alabama to the late Thomas Jefferson Money and Florence Mears Money. He retired from Columbus Consolidated Government as an auto mechanic, employed with Sears in the automotive division for almost 9 years, Camper City for 3 1/2 years, member of Living Grace United Methodist Church, and most importantly will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great and great great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Virlinda Joyce Bonck, 3 brothers, Wesley Money, Jeff Henry Money, and Haywood Money.

Surviving are his wife of almost 67 years, Betty Summersgill Money,  2 daughters, Betty Jean Theriot of Metairie, Louisiana, and Katherine “Kathy” M. Williams of Columbus, Georgia, a son, Herbert “Buddy” Louis Money, Jr. of Fortson, Georgia, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
