Bryan Joseph Newsome, 69, of Ellerslie, Georgia, passed away Saturday evening, August 20, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held on September 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1500 5th Avenue in Phenix City, Al.

Bryan was born January 28, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Herbert Osborne Newsome and Lettie Adams Newsome. He was a member of First Christian Church in Phenix City, a 1966 graduate of Central High School, and retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation as a Hot Press Operator.  He enjoyed making and repairing jewelry, hunting, and especially enjoyed fishing with his family.

Mr. Newsome is survived by his wife of almost 48 years (August 24), Charlotte Barton Newsome, Children: Stefan Newsome (LeeAnne) of Shiloh, Georgia, DeAnna Clark (Brian) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bradley Newsome of Auburn, Alabama; ten grandchildren: Brittany Lawhorne, Chayna Guadagnoli, Patrick Irvine, Katelynn Irvine, Payne Newsome, Connor Newsome, Mateo Newsome, Amber Key, Ashley Clark, and Alex Clark; and one great-grandson, Jacob Key.  Also survived by a brother: Phillip Newsome (Jackie) and three sisters: Judy Rodziwicz (Bill), Virginia Grant, and Donna Kinney.
